Mihaela Slabé is a first-year foundations graduate student in the Master of Social Work program at the University of Calgary. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Alberta University of the Arts (previously ACAD) with a specialization in media arts and digital technology. Before she was inspired to pursue social work, Mihaela worked as an Art Coordinator for adults with developmental disabilities that were seeking employment. Mihaela was happy to find that her previous art and disability work have played nicely into her current social work aspirations. She was excited to take on the role of Graduate Assistant to Dr. Kathleen Sitter and assist on this research project.
